“Ecotourism is the cornerstone of our Country economic development”. This is the belief of Mozambicans governments, that inserted local tourism promotion as a focal point of their recent grow plans.
This challenge was accepted by the INATUR – National Tourism Institute – that from October 13th to 15th organized in Maputo the International Fair of Tourism.
Exhibitions, gastronomy, musicals and seminars to “Enhance sustainable tourism and culture as development vehicles in Mozambique”.
On October 13th – first day of the exhibition – the Fair hosted a special guest: Filipe Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique, the first among the over 10.000 visitors of the event.
An occasion for local business, a meeting for enterprises and institutions, to attract investments and to make new partnerships between public and private sector grow, in favour of the most promising geographical and cultural Mozambican realities.
COSV takes part in the Fair with the Provincial Direction of Tourism in Zambezia, to promote the province and its “10 Wonders”, including the National Reserve of Gilé, a natural wealth that shall be protected and enhanced.
Touristic promotion of the Reserve is just one of the pieces that compose our sustainable development project “Strengthening of financial sustainability and biodiversity of Gilé National Reserve – Mozambique”. Since many years we’ve been alongside communities in Zambezia, together with IGF foundation and Carbon Sink Group, with support of European Union.
Collaboration among municipalities and local management groups, searchers, Reserve operators and communities, made possible the introduction of innovative tools and sustainable practices, protecting the ecosystem and relaunching infrastructures in Zambezia.
Today this province is ready to let the world know about its beauties, to open itself to sustainable tourism and new investments, to show what has been done and how much more can still be done, together.
