Mozambique

A long history of war and a lasting peace. This is the story of Mozambique from its independence onwards. The presence of COSV in the country can be defined “historical” since it started in 1976 as direct expression of Italian Civil Society in the transition process to the actual economic and political independence from Portugal.

In the last years, COSV has committed itself to sectorial programmes focused on specific and peripheral areas such as forest conservation in Gilè area and water and sanitation interventions in Ile and Lugela districts. This choice has been crucial in order to foster a well-balanced development of Mozambique, a country on which the International community expects much.
