In the districts of Alto Molocue and Gurué, in the province of Zambezia, local population suffers from strong food insecurity due to the low agricultural productivity. Together with the Association Oram and with the support of FAO, we began a program to increase access to agricultural inputs, such as seeds, fertilizers and insecticides post-harvest, through a system of vouchers. The program supports the establishment of local committees, that through participatory methodology select the beneficiaries who receive the voucher and promote the spread of objectives to farmers and local authorities. In the two districts, there are 2,000 farmers involved who, with the vouchers and in close cooperation with the local committees, improve agricultural production and come in contact with the selected agro dealers.
